Warming temperatures through the week

High temperatures haven't gone above 32 degrees since January 30th as arctic air settled in for the start of February. The weather pattern is changing for the second half of February as the jet stream stays north of mid-Missouri more often, allowing warmer air to move in from the south and keeping arctic air north.

The week looks dry with the exception of some snow flurries Wednesday as an upper level disturbance moves through. Snow will be light as it moves into our northwestern counties during the day Wednesday but turn to flurries and end as it moves to the southeast.

Temperatures will warm into the low 40s Thursday before another upper wave moves through Friday, bringing clouds and cooling our temperatures slightly. By the weekend, high temperatures jump into the 40s to near 50 with nights in the 20s.
