Veteran's Day arctic blast moving in

Arctic blast on the way to Mid-Missouri

An arctic front will plunge temperatures by nearly 40 degrees from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning with the possibility of snow flurries.

Arctic air will move into Mid-Missouri Monday afternoon and evening. The will likely cross I-70 between 1 to 3 p.m. Temperatures will drop from the upper 50s and low 60s to the upper 30s by 6 p.m. Temperatures will continue to fall through the late evening into the 20s and possibly dip into the upper teens by Tuesday morning.

North winds will be near 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph at times through the evening as temperatures drop. Wind chills will be in the teens for the late evening and could even dip into the single digits by Tuesday morning.

Light rain could change to light snow showers or flurries for the evening as temperatures drop to near freezing. No accumulation is expected.
