The main storm track will stay to our north this week leaving us with dry weather through Friday as days slowly warm, reaching the upper 70s by the end of the week. Temperatures will stay above average this week with nights warming to near 60 by Saturday.

Medium range forecast models indicate that the jet stream will dive south around an upper level low on the west coast forming a trough of low pressure aloft which will gradually move east this week. This will send a surface cold front into Missouri late Friday night into Saturday producing showers and t-storms. At this time, a tenth to a half inch of rain is expected.

This typical fall pattern will continue into the week of the 14th with another stronger system possible around the middle of the week to bring rain and a hit of chilly air. Normally, our first frost (temperature at or below 32 degrees) occurs by the 3rd week of October.
