Colder air moves in Thursday night behind a cold front which will settle into southern Missouri. Waves of low pressure aloft will move through the area bringing chances of snow and a wintry mix from Friday through Saturday.

A narrow band of snow is expected to develop late Thursday night into early Friday across northern Missouri, mainly affecting areas north of HWY 24 where a dusting of snow is possible early Friday morning.

Moisture increases Friday afternoon and night as another stronger wave moves through. Light rain is possible by late afternoon south of I-70 which will turn to sleet or freezing rain Friday night  with light snow to the north through Saturday morning.

Light amounts of snow are expected with higher amounts of up to 3 inches north of I-70. A glaze of ice is possible south of I-70 Friday night which will lead to slick roads Friday night and early Saturday. Please check back for updated forecast snow amounts.
