A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Wednesday night through 1 pm Thursday for most of mid-Missouri. Widespread showers and t-storms will increase Wednesday night through early Thursday morning with an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain likely with possibly up to 3 inches in slow moving thunderstorms.

The ground is nearly saturated across the area and additional heavy rain could produce flash flooding. Runoff from heavy rain will also lead to rapid rises on area rivers, creeks and streams. Low lying areas, low water crossings and other flood prone areas will be epecially susceptible to flooding. Never drive your car or truck through a flooded roadway. Find an alternate route instead.
