In July of 2012 we experienced a terribly hot and dry month. This July has been significantly more enjoyable. Last year we reached a temperature of 106 degrees, whereas this past month we haven't dealt with any temperatures hotter than 96. The average high in July 2013 was 85 but last July 99 degrees was the average high for the month! Not only was the heat almost unbearable, but rainfall was hard to come by. July of 2013 came in with 1.58" of rain at the Columbia Airport. This year we've seen 2.45 inches, although the 30 year average rainfall total for the month of July is 4.37 inches. July of 2013 has fallen just slightly below on temperatures and rainfall, but has been much more comfortable than July of 2012.
