The weather pattern is looking more like mid-summer the next couple days as a ridge of high pressure aloft builds over the Midwest.  Tuesday's temperatures will start off in the mid 60s and quickly climb to the upper 80s by lunchtime and into the lower 90s during the afternoon. When factoring in the humidity, the afternoon temperatures will feel more like the upper 90s. Southwesterly winds will become breezy at 10-18 mph in the afternoon.

The ridge of high pressure aloft will build over the region through Wednesday with afternoon highs in the low-to-mid 90s after a muggy morning with lows near 70. The heat index will touch near 100 Wednesday afternoon with gusty southerly winds to 30 mph at times. As the ridge retreats to the west, northwesterly winds aloft will carry in cooler air Thursday and Friday, dropping our daytime highs into the lower 80s.
