A storm system will bring rain to mid-Missouri as early as Friday morning and continuing through the afternoon. Temperatures will start off near or below freezing early Friday morning, quickly warming as rain moves in. Areas north of I-70 will still be near or just below freezing as rain begins which could lead to freezing rain for a period of time. The best chance of freezing rain is in northwestern Missouri where a Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued from 5 a.m. to noon Friday.

Rainfall amounts of a quarter to a half inch are likely across the area with slightly higher amounts of up to three quarters of an inch near I-44. Along with the rain, rapid snow melt along with frozen ground will result in the threat of flooding. A Flood Watch has been issued from Friday morning through evening and includes Maries, Phelps and Pulaski counties.
