August 2013 Review

The first 20 days of August 2013 were cooler than average with daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s and nights mainly in the 50s and 60s. A heat wave began on the 21st with high temperatures at or above 90 degrees through the end of the month, reaching 100 on the 30th and 31st. The average monthly low temperature came in at 65.2 with an average monthly high of 86.5 which ends up being 0.3 degrees below average overall.

The month was dry with only 1.88 inches of rain which is 2.48 inches below average. Except for a hundredth of an inch of rain on the 23rd, we were dry since August 13th.
