Abnormally dry conditions continue

The latest Drought Monitor shows abnormally dry conditions continuing in Mid-Missouri for the start of August. Showers and t-storms in the past week have only brought spotty, low amounts of rain as storms with heavy rain went either north or south of the area. Fortunately our temperatures have been below average which has slowed the onset of drought. Below average temperatures are expected for the first two weeks of August with occasional chances of rain which should improve our dry conditions.
