A strong, slow moving cold front will move across Mid-Missouri Wednesday bringing periods of showers and t-storms to the region. A few showers or t-storms are possible Wednesday morning but severe weather is not expected. Locally heavy rain is possible with early morning storms. Storms will increase in coverage and intensity during the afternoon as the cold front approaches HWY 63. As the storms become organized as they move east, large hail and damaging winds will be possible in areas near and east of HWY 63 with the highest risk of severe storms near I-44. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches could lead to flooding of low lying areas. Storms will move out of the area by late evening as cooler, drier air moves in.
