Tim Fuller named interim MU men's basketball team head coach
COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Just more than 24 hours after he was introduced, Kim Anderson made his first important move. The new Missouri basketball coach retained associate head coach Tim Fuller, who was the interim head coach when Frank Haith left.

Fuller went 5-0 to start last season when Haith served a five-game suspension for his role in the Miami booster scandal. He is viewed as one of the top assistants in the country and was rumored to be a head coaching candidate at Florida A&M.

"I'd like to welcome Tim Fuller as the first member of our coaching staff here at Missouri and applaud how he led this program and kept Mizzou moving forward through practices and recruiting over the last couple weeks," Kim Anderson said in a statement.

"After meeting with Coach Anderson the last two days and seeing the way he relates to our student-athletes and coaches, I quickly accepted his offer to join his staff at Mizzou," Fuller said in a release through the school. "This is going to be fun."

Fuller has been with Missouri since 2011. He came to Mizzou after serving as an assistant under Rick Pitino at Louisville. Fuller played basketball at Wake Forrest. He took a break from basketball by working for Nike as a pro sports representative before his time with Louisville.

"I'm ecstatic right now," Fuller said. "I love Missouri. I appreciate everything about our student-athletes, this state, this school and our fans. This has become my home."

Jakeenan Gant also confirmed he will honor his commitment to play for the Tigers. Gant is one of two signees for the class of 2014. He is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com.

Central Missouri assistant Brad Loos confirmed to ABC 17 that he will follow Kim Anderson to Mizzou.

"I am officially a Tiger," Loos said over the phone.

Loos was at Austin Peay before joining Anderson at Central Missouri. He was with the Mules for 12 years before bolting for Mizzou.

Anderson will look to one more remaining assistant spot on his staff. One rumored candidate is current Missouri assistant Bryan Tibaldi, who played under Tom Izzo at Michigan State.
