JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -

Two propositions that would have funded schools in the capital city failed at the polls Tuesday.

Jefferson City residents voted against Questions 1 and 2, a 25-cent tax levy and a $79 million bond.

The tax levy would have helped to fund general needs to the district, including transportation, security and technology.

If it had passed, the bond issue would have helped to build a new high school and elementary school. The proposed high school would replace the current high school and house all students on one campus with academies.
