Services and memorial fund announced for murdered Iberia girl

Funeral services have been announced for Macala Shelton, the Iberia teenager murdered over the weekend.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with interment in Hawkins Cemetery near Iberia.
The City of Iberia has set up a fund to help pay for Macala's funeral. Donations can be made to the Macala Shelton Memorial Fund at the Bank of Iberia located at 841 East Highway 42.

Steven Neal Henderson, 30, is facing counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the murder of Shelton. Law enforcement says he is Shelton's step-uncle.
