COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Fire crews went back to the scene of a structure fire late Monday and again early Tuesday.

The house, located at 1357 Old Highway 40, was fully engulfed Monday morning when crews arrived around 11:30. The home is located of I-70 near the Boone-Callaway county line, just east of Columbia.

Mutual aid was called for the fire, with firefighters from Boone County and North Callaway Fire Protection Districts responding to the scene.

Fire crews say there were no injuries, but the home and an RV nearby are a total loss. Due to the heat, firefighters took rotating shifts.

According to an ABC 17 News crew at the scene, heat from the fire caused part of a neighboring home and a billboard above the structure to melt.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire and no damage estimate was immediately available.
