COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Columbia police were searching for a man who burst into a house on Hamilton Way, near the University of Missouri campus, Sunday morning.

Residents there told ABC 17 News the man was banging on neighboring doors, asking for a specific person.

The suspect eventually burst into 1111 Hamilton Way and cornered a resident at gunpoint, demanding marijuana and money.

When the resident told him he did not have any drugs or cash, the suspect left the house without taking any property.

"He actually opened my door, took a few steps in and I could kind of like hear him, like, breathing over me," Zach Blocker, roommate of the victim, told ABC 17 News.

Blocker pretended to be asleep because he did not know who the man was.

The residents at 1111 Hamilton Way said they did not know the man, who wore a homemade mask and had a green-tinted gun.

"My roommate pretty much just said he had a white t-shirt over his face with two holes punched in," Blocker said.

That resident told ABC 17 News he did not recognize the suspect and he does not sell marijuana contrary to the intruder's claims.

Police said Sunday they were looking for a white male in his 20s, 6'-6'3" and a little more than 200 pounds.

The suspect was wearing a tan Mizzou baseball cap, blue track jacket, shorts and Nike tennis shoes.

He was also carrying a backpack.

No one was hurt.
