A Jefferson City resident was killed and three others were injured in a car crash Saturday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that accident happened around 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 54 and Route FF in MIller County.
Troopers say Huayang Wang, 23, of Columbia, had pulled over to the shoulder of westbound Highway 54 when her car was struck from behind by another vehicle.
Wang did not suffer any injuries, but the driver and three passengers in the second vehicle were all injured.
A passenger, Maria G. Martinez, 22, of Jefferson City, was first taken to Capitol Region Medical Center before being transferred to University Hospital, where Martinez was pronounced dead.
A 2-year-old child, Karla Gonzales, was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to University Hospital.
The driver, 42-year-old Luis A. Narvarez, and a third passenger, 25-year-old Jorge L. Guevara, suffered moderate injuries.
Troopers say Narvarez and the child were wearing seat belts, but Martinez and Guevara were not.
