JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -

Jefferson City police are investigating the second armed robbery in two days.

Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the 2500 block of Scenic Drive to a report of an armed robbery.

The victim told police a man he knew robbed him at gunpoint, took cash and was possibly still in his home stealing items. The victim fled to a neighbor's home to call police.

Officer set up a perimeter around the victim's home before entering. The suspect was not in the house, but a K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the 200 block of Haaf Drive before losing track.

Jefferson City police say the investigation is ongoing and officers are currently searching for the known suspect.

On Tuesday, police responded to another armed robbery on Elizabeth Street.
