Columbia police looking for missing woman

Cassandra Laronge's family believes she is with abusive ex-boyfriend and may be held against her will.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Columbia police said Friday they are looking for a missing woman, and she could be with a man who allegedly attacked her.

Cassandra Laronge, 27, was last seen October 26 leaving a home in the 100 block of Oak Street, where she was staying with a friend.

Christopher Mears, 35, is wanted in Callaway County on a felony warrant for assaulting Laronge. His bond is $50,000.

The last time anybody heard from Laronge was last Saturday, when she called an out-of-state relative. Officers have no reason to believe Laronge is under immediate danger or being held agaisnt her will.

Both Mears and Laronge could be using a 1996 Ford truck and pulling a camper trailer of unknown description. It has a Missouri license plate number of 3UT609.
