Fulton police chief Steve Myers tells ABC 17 News a teenage girl considered missing and endangered has been found in Columbia.
Amjina Davis, 14, was first reported missing after running away from home on March 25 at 4:30 p.m. She had last been seen at a relative's residence on Wyoming Street in St. Louis on Wednesday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an endangered person alert for Davis after she was reported missing.
After disappearing Monday night, Amjina Davis' mother, Latasha Mars, was frantic.
"I called a few of her friends, I tried to figure out where possibly she could have went to," Mars told ABC 17 News.
Davis was spotted in St. Louis Wednesday night.
Family tells us she was dropped off at her stepmother’s house where an aunt picked her up. She was brought back to another aunt’s home in Columbia this weekend.
While it is still unclear why she ran away, Mars said she may have an idea of why her daughter left.
As the family gathered for its Easter meal today, members expressed thankfulness for Amjina's safe return.
“We’re just so grateful, so glad that Amjina is back with us,” the family said during a prayer.
Speaking now from experience, Mars said being an involved parent is very important.
“Please talk to your child,” Mars said. “If you see something wrong, talk to them."
