A group of friends show support to a friend and fellow prom-goer who suffers from cancer.

The 18-year-old Jared Hill, a senior at Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, was diagnosed with testicular cancer last year and has since undergone chemotherapy. His doctor said if he was going to go to the prom, he would have to wear a protective mask, since he is now very susceptible to getting sick, reports Fox 5.

Jared's girlfriend Emily and some of their friends had an idea that would make Jared feel more comfortable. All 17 of them decided to wear protective masks as well.

Jared said he hopes to increase awareness about testicular cancer, a former of cancer that can often be difficult to discuss with peers.
