Mizzou game day forecast
Updated On: Sep 27 2013 11:13:21 AM CDT
The cold front we've been tracking all week will finally arrive Saturday afternoon, but the latest forecast models have been speeding the front through Mid-Missouri faster.
Clouds will quickly increase through the morning Saturday with a dry start to the day. Showers will develop toward the west, near the Highway 65 corridor, as early as 10am-12pm, with showers entering central Mid-Missouri, closer to Columbia and Jefferson City, around 1-2pm.
A few thunderstorms will be embedded in the showers, but widespread storms and lightning, as well as severe weather, are not expected Saturday.
Forecast models continue to show most of the rain clearing Columbia by 8pm, with the showers pulling out of all of Mid-Missouri by 11pm-midnight. Clouds and a lingering isolated shower may be possible overnight before skies clear quickly by daybreak Sunday.
For the Mizzou game, scattered showers are likely by midday and through the afternoon for tailgating. Showers and an isolated thunderstorm are possible for the beginning of the game, with drier conditions by halftime and the game's end. Be prepared with rain gear and ponchos for at least the first half of the game!
Rainfall totals will be lightest in western sections of Mid-Missouri where up to a .25" is possible, while up to .50" and maybe .75" are possible toward Montgomery/Gasconade counties where storms are expected to re-intensify late Saturday before moving out.
