A Mid-Missouri man pleaded guilty to an armed bank robbery earlier this year. David Brian Krzysik, 49, of Tuscumbia pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to the armed robbery of First State Bank in Iberia. He also admitted that he attempted to rob Central Trust Bank in Tuscumbia. According to authorities, Krzysik robbed First State Bank on March 15th around 11:15 a.m. He placed a black revolver on the bank's counter and demanded money. Officials say he left the bank with over $3,600. Krzysik then admitted to trying to rob the Central Trust Bank 30 minutes later, however, bank employees saw him walking toward the door and locked the front door. Police were able to arrest Krzysik after he drove off a road, into a wooded area and drove down an embankment. Krzysik pleaded guilty to bank robbery and carrying a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. He has not been sentenced yet, but he could face a minimum of seven years in federal prison without parole and a maximum of life in federal prison without parole.
