Stephanie Schaefer joined the ABC 17 News team as an Anchor and Producer in February 2000.
She was born and raised in St. Louis, but calls Columbia home. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and worked at KOMU while she was in school. After graduating, she worked at WGEM in Quincy, Illinois for two years before moving back to Columbia.
Stephanie was awarded the 2011 Best Newscast of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists for anchoring and producing ABC 17 News at 5PM. As the anchor of the 5PM evening news, she is committed to bringing Mid-Missouri viewers the latest news and developments from throughout the day.
She is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and follows the Birds closely. Her husband and their two children attend as many Mizzou sporting events as possible and enjoy their free time at the Lake of the Ozarks.
